December 21, 2015 Regular Session Minutes

The Board of Directors of the Community School District of South Tama County met on December 21, 2015 in Regular Session meeting at the Professional Learning Room, Partnership Center, Tama, Iowa at 5:46 p.m.


On call of the roll the following were present:  Michelle Yuska, Mark McFate, Alan Kline, Jackie Dvorak.   Absent - Penny Tyynismaa.  Quorum Present.           

Also present were: Mary Jones, Mary Boege, Steve Vesely, Mary Jo Cherveny, Cindy Hill, Darcy Lamb, Rhonda Shaw, Ann Rutledge, Kevin Nelson, Seth Koch, Mike Carnahan, Roy Frakes and Dan Phipps.


Motion by Kline, second by McFate to approve the agenda.  All Ayes.


Motion by Dvorak second by Kline to approve the consent agenda approving the minutes of the November 16, 2015 and the December 1, 2015 meetings, financials ,bills for payment as presented and Early Graduation Requests for C.S, B.N., and D.G.  All Ayes.


Public Comments:

Mary Jo Cherveny addressed the Board on the possible dates for the Music Trip in 2017.  Seth Koch addressed the Board on the Early Retirement and Music Trip. Steve Vesely addressed the Board about the article in the paper concerning the Revenue Purpose Statement.


Motion by McFate second by Dvorak to approve the following personnel requests as presented. All Ayes


Contracts - Dave Wacha - Bus Driver

Officiating – Don Anderson - Volleyball Bob Averill - Basketball, Greg Davies - Volleyball, Dennis Dirks - Volleyball, Jim Hall - Basketball, Dan Rhine - Volleyball, Andrea Rutledge - Volleyball, Gary Sieck - Basketball - Kory Staff - Basketball - Eugene Ubben - Volleyball,


Motions by McFate, second by Dvorak to approve the SIAC Members as presented .  All Ayes.


Motion by Kline, second by Dvorak to approve the review of the Impact Aid Indian Policies and Procedures.  All Ayes.


Motion by Kline, second by Dvoark, to approve the offering of the Early Retirement Incentive up to $6,500 per year for 5 years.  All Ayes.


Superintendent Jones updated the Board on the high school facility project, discussed possible dates for the Music Trip in 2017 and reviewed the State School Report Card for the district.


Motion by Dvoark, second by Kline to adjourn the meeting at 7:03 p.m.   All Ayes.
