OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT OF SOUTH TAMA COUNTY
The Board of Directors of the Community School District of South Tama County met on November 5, 2018 in Special Session at the Partnership Center, Tama, Iowa at 5:30 p.m.
On call of the roll the following were present: Jackie Dvorak, Ron Houghton, Alan Kline, Mandy Lekin and Penny Tyynismaa. Quorum Present
Also present were: Jared Smith, Mary Boege, Heather Garrett, John Speer, Brad Schweppe, Kris Collins, Roy Frakes, Brent Bagnell, Ben Adams, Shauna Smith, Jon Huebner and Megan Rosenberger.
Motion by Kline second by Lekin to approve the amended agenda adding an item to Personnel. All Ayes.
Public Comments - None
Motion by Lekin, second by Dvorak to approve the following personnel requests as presented. All Ayes
Transfers- Tracy Glockl from Elem Sp. Ed. Para Educator to HS Sp. Ed. Para Educator, Jennifer Clemann from Elem Family School Liaison to Elem Sp. Ed. Para Educator. New Position - Hire an additional part-time Sp. Ed Para Educator at the high school.
Motion by Kline second by Dvorak to appoint Ron Houghton as the Delegate for the IASB Delegate Assembly. All Ayes.
Motion by Houghton second by Kline to approve the request for the use of buses by the After Prom Committee. All Ayes.
Motion by Houghton, second by Kline to approve the Community Liaison position for the Middle School/High School. All Ayes.
The Principals presented a data update for the Board of their buildings and shared their Plan on a Page.
Principal Schweppe discussed with the Board the possibility of starting a Partners in Education with local businesses. He will gather more information and bring that back to the Board.
Superintendent Smith discussed the possibility of compensating teachers who cover a class period during their prep time. More information will be gathered and brought back to the Board.
Motion by Dvoark, second by Kline to adjourn the meeting at 7:42 p.m. All Ayes.
