OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE
COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT OF SOUTH TAMA COUNTY
The Board of Directors of the Community School District of South Tama County met on March 21, 2016 in Regular Session meeting at the Professional Learning Room, Partnership Center, Tama, Iowa at 5:30 p.m.
On call of the roll the following were present: Michelle Yuska, Mark McFate, Alan Kline and Penny Tyynismaa. Quorum Present. Absent - Jackie Dvorak. Dvoark joined the meeting at 5:34 PM.
Also present were: Mary Jones, Mary Boege, Rhonda Shaw, Steve McAdoo, Chad Woosley, Stacy Stull and Roger Wacha.
Motion by McFate, second by Kline to approve the amended agenda. All Ayes.
Motion by Kline second by McFate to approve the consent agenda approving the minutes of the February 15, 2016 and the March 7, 2016 meetings, financials ,bills for payment as presented and Early Graduation for F.K., A.R., and J.D. All Ayes.
Motion by Tyynismaa, second by Kline to approve the following personnel requests as presented. All Ayes
Deanna Zmolek - Head Girls Golf Coach Shared with Chelsea Ahrens, Mariah Fritz - 9th Grade Softball Coach.
Internal Transfers - Nathan Doran Assistant Varsity Football to Head Varsity Football
Ashley Steven - 7th Math to 8th Math, Megan Rosenberger - 2nd Grade to Title I

Motion by McFate, second by Kline to table setting the budget hearing until a meeting date can be set. All Ayes.
Motion by Tyynismaa, second by McFate to set the April Board Meeting for April 13, 2016. All Ayes.
Motion by Tyynismaa, second by Kline to authorize the Board Secretary to publish the FY17 Budget estimate, showing a total budget of $25,931,749 and a total levy of $16.24 per 1000 valuation. The board also resolves to levy property tax for the budget guarantee of $0.00 and sets Wednesday, April 13, 2016 as a Public Hearing date regarding the FY17 Budget.
Superintendent Jones updated the Board on the high school facility project. She talked about what is being done at the high school now to get ready to move the teachers in from the portables.
Elementary Principal Stacy Stull reviewed with the board the new summer school schedule and what will be taught. Summer school will run from May 31th to July 8th. She also reviewed the new ELI regulations.
Superintendent Jones introduced Chad Woosley the new Transportation Manager to the Board.
Superintendent Jones and Board Member McFate discussed the Iowa Juvenile Home. The Consultant that was hired by the State did not show up for the meeting with the Toledo City Council so there was nothing to report.
Maintenance Director Steve McAdoo addressed the board on the portables at the high school. He suggested three alternatives for the buildings. Advertise them for sale, demo them or have the fire departments burn them. He will start with advertising them.
Motion by Tyynismaa, second by Dvorak to adjourn the meeting at 6:26 p.m. into an exempt session for negotiations. All Ayes.
