This week, the South Tama County Middle School Student-Athlete Spotlight is on Enriqueta Deigo.  Enriqueta “Queta” is an 8th grader at STC.  She is a guard for the Trojan basketball team.

Queta has developed into a team leader and a hard worker during the first weeks of 2014 basketball campaign. The lady Trojans will look for Queta’s talent and leadership on the court as an important key to their success this winter.

Queta is an active middle schooler. In addition to basketball, she is involved in band, softball, track & field, and represents her class on student council. She enjoys drawing, listening to music and going to her siblings’ activities during her free time.

Queta has proved to be an accomplished student in the classroom as well. She’s a STEP, Academic Award recipient, and Honor Roll student during her 3 years at the middle school. She has received the Kiwanis Golden Ruler Award and has maintained a 4.0 grade point average so far during her 8th grade year.

Queta is the daughter of Melinda Diego of Toledo.
