Collaboration within the community is an effective way of providing better services, developing stronger programs and reaching common goals.   The relationship between STC and Iowa Valley Community College has grown tremendously over the past several years.  This relationship has resulted in many great opportunities for STC students and now is impacting our community at large.

Did you know that during the 2012-2013 school year STC high school students earned 1071 college credits through Marshalltown Community College?  Since the courses are provided to the student without charge, this resulted in a tuition savings of nearly $147,000 for families.

Currently, STC students are enrolled in 565.5 credits for this semester. Many courses are offered online and some are also provided at STC High School.  STC students are experiencing and demonstrating great success with the coursework.

Have you heard about the expanded programs at the Partnership Center?  Iowa Valley Community College has opened a continuing education site for community members to earn their high school equivalency diploma and take English as a Second Language classes.   As you consider the needs of the community, these programs are a great fit.

The relationship STC has with Iowa Valley Community College has been an excellent experience that has provided valuable resources for students.  Effective collaboration makes a difference.
