Thirty STCHS Economics students (juniors & seniors) recently traveled to Marshalltown Community College for first ever Financial Literacy Fair presented by the MCC Admissions and Financial Aid departments. Before the fair, students researched a career they were interested in and found out their average income per month. Then they made selections about housing, food, clothing, cars, student loans, and other monthly expenses. Afterwards, students met with financial advisors to make decisions about how they can better budget their income.
This was a very meaningful experience for STCHS students who gathered valuable information about planning for their future and becoming financially independent and capable.
