STCMS: Pennies for Patients Fundraiser

posted Jan 27, 2016, 5:22 AM by Web Coordinator
From February 1-22, South Tama Middle School will be participating in a Pennies for Patients fundraiser. Our efforts help to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and every penny we raise, goes directly to this organization for funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. Students will have the opportunity to donate coins and paper money each day in their home base classroom. Our goal is to raise $2,000 and this is the first year we have participated. The class with the most money raised will win a pizza party. We have special events for each day planned to motivate students and faculty/staff are also invited to participate (see below for more details). Each classroom will have a collection box and every student will also have a letter to take home and a home collection box. Every penny counts and our students are getting excited! In the next two weeks, I'll be visiting each classroom to inform the students of this special event and provide supplies. Every classroom will get a thermometer to track their donations and we will have a large school thermometer also.
