Congratulations, South Tama Middle School, on being identified as a Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) Honor School!  In order to earn this status, schools must participate in an external review process conducted by the AEA 267 and demonstrate PBIS practices are implemented with fidelity as evidenced by PBIS implementation assessments and data which indicates that 80% or more of their students have one or less office discipline referral per year.

The goal of PBIS schools is to improve the climate and improve student achievement by building positive relationships. At a PBIS Honor School, school-wide expectations have been established and taught to all students and staff. Positive behavior is acknowledged, monitored and celebrated through individual and building events. An Honor School uses data about student behavior and positive culture to make informed decisions about building strategies and individual students.

The District is very proud of the students and staff who worked hard to make this happen!
